The Oktoberfest has been held on the Kaiserwiese in the Prater since 2011 and you can party hard again this year. Formerly known as the Wiener Wiesn , the Kaiser Wiesn is taking place for the third time this year from September 25 to October 12. Over 1900 musicians play for you over 18 days in the three festival tents and five alpine pastures. And even away from the music, many events and hearty fun await you at Austria’s largest traditional festival.

The festival tents at the Kaiser Wiesn
The festival grounds are open daily from 11:30 am and can be visited free of charge. During the day you can also enter the tents free of charge, but in the evening you need tickets to attend the events. These are the tents at the Wiesn:
- Gösser tent: The Gösser brewery tent is the largest at the festival. There is room for 3,144 people here, 500 more than last year.
- Nordic Sprit Kaiser tent: The Kaiser tent seats 1,144 guests and offers a direct view of the Vienna Ferris wheel through the transparent roof and the starry sky at night.
- Wiesbauer tent: The Wiesbauer is the second largest tent at the Kaiser Wiesn and serves traditional Austrian cuisine as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes.
There is a daily changing music program in each of the tents. Austrian groups such as the Lauser, the Fetzentaler, Wiener Wahnsinn, BEngelS Reloaded, the Mountain Crew, BÄÄM and many more will be performing. You can get tickets for the evening events here.
In addition to the large festival tents, there are also alpine huts where you can enjoy delicacies and drinks in the pavement cafés.
Parties and other events at the Kaiser Wiesn
On October 7, the Club Seniors’ Afternoon takes place. The Hans Ecker Trio, the Werder Klubband and the young Zillertaler will be playing in the Kaiserzelt from 12:00 to 17:30. Prior registration is required by September 30. There will be further senior citizens’ afternoons on October 01 and 08.
Students are also catered for at the Kaiser Wiesn. On September 30, the Studi Wiesn will be held in the Kaiser Zelt. You can get into the tent for just €15 and party to the music of the Mountain Crew from 7pm to 11pm. You can get tickets here. On October 6 and 7, there will be more Studi parties at the Kaiser Wiesn with DJ Stevie.
For single people looking for love, the big singles party will be organized on 8 October. This will be held at the Kaiser Wiesn for the first time this year. Host Mederitsch will guide you through the evening in the Kaiserzelt. Each participant receives a sticker with a number and has to find the person with the same number in the tent.
More interesting facts about the Vienna Oktoberfest

The best way to get to the festival grounds is by public transport. The U1 and U2 underground lines, the 80A bus and the Bim 0 and 5 streetcars will all take you to Praterstern. Numerous S-Bahn lines also stop here. If you want to come by car, you can park it for a fee in the Prater garage in AusstellungstraĂźe.
The Kaiser Wiesn has had its own march since 2023. The “Kaiser Wiesn March” is the official anthem of the traditional festival and is played by all bands in their own interpretation. You can listen to the song in advance on YouTube so that you can sing along to the lyrics. But after a pint of beer, which you can get for €15.40, you’ll be able to sing along without having to memorize it beforehand.
