Start of Vienna Pride

Vienna Pride 2025 starts on 31 May and transforms Vienna into the center of the LGBTIQ+ community until 15 June. The festival offers numerous events, parties and cultural highlights. The kick-off is the Vienna Pride Happening at Badeschiff Wien. The Pride Village on Rathausplatz and the big rainbow parade on June 14 are the highlights, but there are already numerous events on the weekend that stand for visibility, acceptance and diversity!

Waltz into Space
On May 31, Vienna celebrates the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss Sohn with an extraordinary concert: “Waltz into Space”. The Vienna Symphony Orchestra will play the Danube Waltz at the MAK (Museum of Applied Arts) – and send it directly into space. Although the concert itself is exclusive, the cosmic event will be broadcast live at Strandbar Herrmann on the Danube. There you can dance musically into space together with other Strauss fans in the open air.

360-degree projections immerse you in the history of the Titanic. Experience the emotions and drama of this world-famous phenomenon! Explore life-size replicas of iconic rooms such as the magnificent Grand Staircase or the elegant Café Parisien in the Metaverse. From 16 May to 22 June, the mega event with more than 270 program items takes place at 29 venues throughout Vienna. Celebrate love in the theater: under the motto “V is for loVe”, the Free Republic of Vienna will become a republic of love for five weeks. This includes international adaptations of classics in the theater as well as late night shows, concerts and parties. The focus is on our feelings and questions such as: What does love mean? “LichtStrauss” in the city park
Fancy even more Strauss at the weekend? There’s even more to see in Vienna to mark the 200th birthday of composer Johann Strauss. Local artist Victoria Coeln is transforming Vienna’s Stadtpark (1st and 3rd) into a huge work of art. With her multimedia installation “LichtStrauss”, she will be illuminating the park in spectral colors and creating abstract works of art every dayfrom sunset to 11 pm until 25 May.

The weekend couldn’t get any tastier: The Burger Festival transforms the Ottakringer Brewery into a paradise for burger fans. You can expect creative burger creations – from classic to exotic – as well as vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. In addition to culinary highlights, there will be live DJs, a strongman show, children’s bouncy castle and free beer tasting.
