Enjoying art at renowned museums in Vienna can quickly get expensive, but in November, the entire art scene opens its doors without any barriers. From November 6 to 13, 2026, Vienna Art Week invites you to its latest edition—featuring around 70 partner institutions with over 100 events, all with completely free admission.
Tactile Tours and Sign Language: Experiencing Art Without Barriers
The focus on inclusion is not merely a token gesture, but forms the backbone of the week. Under the “VAW for Everyone” program series, there are numerous tactile tours this year for blind and visually impaired people, such as at the Kunsthistorisches Museum or the Heidi Horten Collection.
In addition, trained interpreters will provide simultaneous interpretation of selected tours into Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS), including at the Vienna Secession and the KunstHausWien. On-site assistance services ensure that all art enthusiasts can participate with ease.

Open Studio Doors and Meeting Places in the Districts

A true highlight on the weekend of November 7 and 8, 2026, are the Open Studio Days. Around 50 selected artists will open their workshops and studios in various Viennese districts from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. This offers a direct glimpse into fresh sketches, workbenches, and creative processes that are usually kept behind closed doors.
This year’s festival headquarters and thematic hub is the “House of Navigating Angst” at Goldschlagstraße 1 in the 15th district. Those who prefer guided tours should secure their spots quickly: Although admission remains free, some special events require registration and, based on past experience, book up fast.
