Put on your flat caps, light the candles: The Shelbys are coming to Vienna! With “Candlelight: Peaky Blinders,” the Musensaal at the Albertina—a former Habsburg palace in the heart of Vienna—welcomes musical guests from Birmingham. The signature sounds of the acclaimed series meet thousands of flickering candles, transforming a concert evening into a journey right into the heart of Shelby territory.
Following musical tributes to Bridgerton, The Lord of the Rings, and The Wizard of Oz, Candlelight now turns its attention to a completely different world: darker, more mysterious, and full of musical suspense.

When 1920s Birmingham meets Vienna
Anyone familiar with *Peaky Blinders* knows that the series thrives not only on its characters but also on its distinctive soundtrack. Over six seasons between 2013 and 2022, Steven Knight’s British production followed Tommy Shelby and his family through 1920s Birmingham. The story continued in 2026 with the film *The Immortal Man*.
The musical contrast is particularly exciting: a historical setting meets modern rock. Songs like “Red Right Hand” by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and “Do I Wanna Know?” by Arctic Monkeys shape the atmosphere of the series. At Candlelight, these sounds are reinterpreted in dark, powerful live arrangements.
For about 60 minutes, you can let the music transport you to Shelby Territory. Thousands of candles create a striking contrast between warm light and dramatic melodies.
The venue couldn’t be more fitting either: the Musensaal at the Albertina, surrounded by historic state rooms, lends the concert a touch of imperial elegance. Here, 1920s Birmingham meets Vienna’s magnificent past.
