Spring is finally in the air, and with it one of the most beautiful celebrations of the year returns to Vienna: Easter is just around the corner! And the music metropolis of Vienna is not only known for its dreamlike Christmas markets. At Easter, too, the Austrian capital captivates with its colorful Easter markets. More than 240 market stalls and restaurants await you in the fresh air – discover the most beautiful Easter markets and find creative gift ideas!
Easter market of the economy

The earliest Easter market starts at the end of February in Florisdorf. The traditional market on Franz-Jonas-Platz offers you a huge selection of Easter decorations and spring crafts. Eleven market stalls make gift dreams come true and outdo each other with creative ideas. Your physical well-being is also taken care of: Austrian specialties are the main attraction here . A classic feature is the merry-go-rounds for children, where they can let off steam.
Klavarienbergfest in Hernals
The Klavarienbergfest looks back on a 300-year tradition and emerged from the tradition of fasting markets. The Easter market in Hernals celebrates Easter customs and brings them closer to you. In addition to arts and crafts and delicious delicacies, you can enjoy live music. Here, too, there are a number of activities for children to take part in, as well as a stage program with magicians and puppet theater. But the highlight is the Easter bonfire on Holy Saturday.
Old Viennese Easter Market Freyung

The Old Viennese Easter Market on Freyung is, as the name suggests, the oldest in the city. In 1639, the emperor inaugurated the Hernalser Fastenmarkt here. Over the years, this place of pilgrimage became Vienna’s first Easter market. And it is still impressive today: every year, the largest egg mountain in Europe is piled up in the middle of the old town with around 40,000 painted Easter eggs. And the market stalls offer everything from culinary specialties to decorative items and live music.
Easter market at Am Hof

The Easter market at Am Hof also celebrates Easter in all its glory. Beautiful handicrafts such as colorful flower arrangements and intricately decorated eggs are displayed alongside specialties such as Easter lamb and sweets. Enjoy Vienna’s city center and discover what over 50 exhibitors have to offer!
VinziRast Easter Market
The shortest of the Easter markets is the small but lovely market at VinziRast. Here you can find a selection of handmade items, the proceeds of which go to a good cause. Discover watches, jewelry, Easter decorations, toys, and much more. At the Easter baking workshop, you can bake your own Easter cookies and decorate them to your heart’s content. The restaurant is open during the market and offers special Easter-themed food and drinks.
Easter & Spring Market Schönbrunn

The Viennese Easter markets couldn’t be more romantic than in front of Schönbrunn Palace. Under the motto “Imperial Easter,” this Easter market celebrates its royal atmosphere. Against the backdrop of the palace, exhibitors offer Easter decorations and handicrafts alongside all kinds of culinary delights. If that’s too boring for you, there’s also a straw maze, a Ferris wheel, a children’s train, and a traditional craft workshop.
Flower gardens in Hirschstetten
Where better to celebrate Easter than surrounded by colorful flowers? In the Hirschstetten Flower Gardens, a market worth seeing takes place on the weekend before Easter and over the holidays themselves, from Thursday to Sunday. The regional specialties are just as worthwhile as the many decorative items. The multitude of blooming flowers create a wonderful springtime atmosphere. And with a bouncy castle, a carousel, face painting, and craft workshops, there’s plenty of fun for the little ones too. You can also say hello to the cute animals in the petting zoo.
