Discover Vienna’s cultural heritage from a whole new perspective on a nocturnal walk through the palace gardens of Schönbrunn. On the approximately 1.3 km long circular route, you will be immersed in an atmospheric landscape of lights. Artistic highlights created especially for Schönbrunn make the walk a unique experience – you won ‘t find anything like it anywhere else in the world. Thanks to state-of-the-art lighting technology, Vienna’s Baroque era comes to life: Magnificent works of art and impressive depictions of imperial personalities come to life in sparkling splendor. The fascinating light sculptures include royal clothing and jewelry, classical musical instruments, a carousel horse, various dancers and much more.
Past meets modernity

The former summer residence of the Habsburgs impresses with its magnificent halls and extensive gardens. Famous personalities such as Maria Theresa, Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Elisabeth lived here and left their mark on the history of this place. The baroque complex is one of the most impressive in Europe. In 1569, the estate came into the possession of the Habsburgs, and in 1642 Eleonore von Gonzaga, the wife of Emperor Ferdinand II, had a pleasure palace built, which was first given the name “Schönbrunn”. Today, the palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its historical significance, magnificent architecture and furnishings.
Now the past is coming to life in new splendor: from November 6, “Imperial Lights” will combine architectural splendor and contemporary light art to create an unforgettable moment.
