Last year, more than 227,000 people flocked to Vienna’s Long Night of the Markets on the last weekend of summer vacation. So if you take an evening stroll through the city on September 4, 2026, you’ll quickly notice that the classic market stalls all over the city suddenly transform into lively dance floors. From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., vendors will open their shutters for an extra-late shift.
You can look forward to live music, DJ sets, and interactive workshops right among the fruit crates. Plus, all 20 participating locations will offer plenty of cold drinks and warm treats.
From Seestadt to the Naschmarkt
Both established venues and smaller neighborhood hangouts are taking part in the event. These include all 17 permanent Viennese markets, such as the Karmelitermarkt in the 2nd district, the Meidlinger Markt, and the Brunnenmarkt in Ottakring. In addition, three weekly markets are joining in, so restaurateurs will be serving up their best at the organic market on Freyung and the Mazzuccomarkt in Seestadt.
If you prefer the classic spot in the 6th district, you can also experience an absolute first there. This year, the Naschmarkt is introducing the new Marktraum, which brings even more fresh concepts to the historic setting.

Collect stamps for a full meal
If you get there on time, you’ll secure some tangible perks for your trip home. If you’re among the first 10,000 guests, you’ll be handed a limited-edition Wiener Märkte cloth bag right away. Before you wrap up your evening, though, be sure to collect stamps at at least two locations.
Once you’ve collected the second stamp in your passport, you must turn it in by 9:30 p.m. at the latest. This enters you directly into the raffle, giving you the chance to win one of 230 generously filled gift baskets. Since the distances between locations like the Kutschkermarkt and the Gersthofer Markt in the 18th district are extremely short, this goal is easily achievable.
