The crypt of St. Florian Abbey houses the sarcophagus of Anton Bruckner. The composer was a choirboy, teacher, and organist here, and beginning in 1849, he composed nearly thirty works at the abbey. On Saturday, November 28, the program there will feature a completely different repertoire: At the Candlelight Disney Love Songs Concert, you can look forward to a classical tribute to the most romantic love songs from all your favorite Disney movies, performed by candlelight by the talented Kandinsky String Quartet.
The selection ranges from “When My Prince Comes” from Snow White to “Married Life” from Up. In between, you’ll hear, among others, “Can This Really Be Love” from The Lion King, “Love Opens Doors” from Frozen, and “Remember Me” from Coco. Whether you’re already die-hard Disney fans or not, everyone is welcome here.

A town with a long musical tradition
The history of St. Florian Abbey dates back to an early Christian burial site where, according to tradition, the martyr Florian was buried. In 1071, Augustinian canons took over the abbey and, from then on, shaped the place into a spiritual center.
Over the centuries, St. Florian developed into an important place of pilgrimage and one of Austria’s most magnificent Baroque monastery complexes. The collegiate basilica, the Marble Hall, and the extensive library still bear witness today to this long history of architecture and culture.
The music is also closely tied to the church: Anton Bruckner served here as organist and found his final resting place in the crypt beneath the Bruckner Organ, named after him.
This special blend of history, architecture, and music makes the abbey an impressive setting for a concert.

🚗 Directions: By car, it’s about 168 kilometers from Vienna; the fastest routes take just under 2 hours. By train, travel via Linz and continue from there to the abbey. If you arrive early, you can spend the day in Linz and travel on to St. Florian in the evening for the concert.
🎟️ Tickets: Seats are divided into different seating categories. Zone D is already sold out; tickets for Zone C are available for €55.50.
👥 Age restriction: The concerts are open to children ages 5 and up. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
👗 Dress Code: There’s no strict dress code, but a Disney-themed outfit is welcome.
