Anyone looking to escape the heat of the city in the summer of 2026 will find just what they’re looking for less than an hour from Vienna. There, an 870-meter-long track awaits you, winding its way through a dense forest. As soon as you climb into the sled, you’ll race down into the valley at speeds of up to 40 km/h. In short, we’re talking about the Corona Coaster in St. Corona am Wechsel, which stands out thanks to its location in southern Lower Austria.
Centrifugal force and steep curves
The run winds through several steep curves and action-packed loops, with the slope providing the necessary momentum. In addition, an automatic centrifugal brake kicks in once a certain speed is reached, ensuring you’re always safe. That’s why even young passengers can ride along as passengers, while older children can usually steer the sled completely on their own.
Since the area is located right in the Vienna Alps, the outing can be perfectly combined with a short hike along Corona’s Ameisenpfad trail. Alternatively, after you’ve done a few laps, you can enjoy a tasty snack or explore the neighboring Motorikpark. In addition, the Wexl Trails’ mini bike park attracts all those who prefer to ride on two wheels.

More than just tobogganing: Trails and climbing adventures
When you arrive, a single ride costs €8 for adults, while children ages 6 and up also need a ticket for €7. Plus, as a holder of the Lower Austria CARD, you get one free ride on the track.
Before you plan your trip, you should also know that the facility is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. during peak season. While there is parking available on-site, you can also easily reach the venue via public transportation by taking the regional bus 369 from Aspang/Markt. From there, it’s just a short walk to the station before the adventure begins.
