Do you already know about the most spectacular panoramic view of the capital that won’t cost you a single cent? The Jubiläumswarte on Gallitzinberg in Vienna’s 16th district is nestled in the countryside at 449 meters above sea level. Anyone who dares to climb the 31-meter-high structure can enjoy an unobstructed view of the entire Vienna Basin. Whether it’s St . Stephen’s Cathedral, the Danube Valley, or—on clear days—the view of the Schneeberg region—up here, the metropolis lies at your feet. The trip is well worth it for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a short while.
A sporting highlight in the heart of nature

The tower-like concrete structure may seem simple at first glance, but climbing it turns into a real experience for your circulation and senses. The structure blends harmoniously into the wooded surroundings of the Vienna Woods and attracts those seeking relaxation all year round.
A spiral staircase with a reward
Reaching the top requires a little bit of muscle power. Exactly 183 steps wind steadily upward along the outside of the massive concrete column. As the wind blows through the treetops, your heart rate rises gently. Once you reach the top platform, the fresh forest air immediately makes every bit of effort worthwhile.
Pure nature along the city hiking trail

The observation tower fitsperfectly into a relaxing hike. The tower serves as a central landmark on the popular City Hiking Trail 4. Numerous winding forest paths around the area invite you to take long walks, short jogs, or enjoy a leisurely picnic surrounded by nature after climbing the tower.
By car, you can easily drive up Hütteldorfer Straße or Flötzersteigstraße to Johann-Staud-Straße, where limited parking is available on-site.
