Stuffed peppers or spicy sliced cheese often end up in our shopping carts, but the exact process behind them usually remains a mystery. That changes about a two-hour drive from Vienna in the northern Waldviertel region. At the cheese factory in the Waldviertel , you can watch the production of authentic dairy products up close and learn about regional processes.
From raw milk to finished antipasti

The centerpiece of the expansive grounds is the large demonstration facility. You can only enter this as part of a guided tour, which provides an in-depth introduction to the world of milk processing. There, you’ll learn step by step how the raw materials are refined and eventually mature into the final products.
Particularly interesting for anyone who enjoys a tasty snack: You’ll get a direct look at the production of the stuffed antipasti for which the Waldviertel-based company is widely known. But the tour isn’t just about theory—at various stations, you’ll taste the fresh cheese specialties right on the spot. The guided tours provide concrete details about the history of the company and the craft itself.
