The organic young plant market is a reliable place to go every season. There are lots of plants and flowers to buy here all year round. At the beginning of spring, however, you can buy lots of greenery: From May, you can buy lettuce, cabbage and leafy vegetables, sweet peas, herbs and fennel tubers for your garden at the summer market for young plants. On top of that, there’s also expert advice and the best tips on the world of plants.

2nd summer flower sale of the Schönbrunn Botanical Collections
You can really set yourself up for the summer at the summer flower sale in Schönbrunn. Here, the Austrian Federal Gardens give away all those summer flowers that were originally grown for the Federal Gardens but could not find a place. This means you can buy the plants and flowers for your own home all the more cheaply. It’s worth being quick, because the offer is only valid while stocks last! Flower markets could hardly be more beautiful.

The Schönbrunn citrus collection is huge: if you want to find out more about the varieties, the Vienna Citrus Days are the perfect opportunity. The HBLFA for Horticulture, the Austrian Federal Gardens and the Austrian Horticultural Society present part of the Schönbrunn citrus collection. There will be guided tours and talks, and best of all: you can even buy the special plants yourself!

By buying the organic young plants at the WUK, you are not only helping yourself out: The plants come from Soziale Landwirtschaft Marchfeld, which employs long-term unemployed people and trains them in the organic production of ornamental plants, herbs and vegetable varieties. You can pre-order lots of plants here or buy them directly from Marchfeld. The offer ranges from herbs and fertilizers to various soils. The flower markets are also among the highlights.

What tastes more like summer than fresh figs? At Feigenhof in Simmering, you can buy everything from jam to vinegar and, of course, your own plants for your own garden.
