If you’re looking for a real skydiving experience with a free fall from 4,000 meters but are afraid to jump directly out of a plane, you should definitely try this out! Indoor skydiving is available right in Vienna’s Prater. It’s Austria’s only indoor wind tunnel for professional bodyflying, perfectly simulating a free fall from the sky.
Here, the airflow reaches speeds of up to 280 km/h as soon as you let yourself fall into the glass-enclosed flight chamber. This precisely replicates the conditions of a real skydive, but without any fear of heights. Since you’re positioned just above the padded net, the risk is eliminated, while the sensation of weightlessness remains absolutely real.
Full control in the air
While it looks pretty awesome when the pros do it, maintaining the correct aerodynamic posture requires real muscle work. Before you take off, you’ll be provided with a special flight suit, a helmet, and a comprehensive safety briefing. A trained instructor is also always right there with you in the chamber, ensuring you never lose your balance.

After spending the first minute in the airflow, you’ll feel every single muscle. Standard flight packages last a total of 60 to 90 minutes, with the actual flight time in the air usually amounting to two 60-second intervals. That may not sound like much, but it’s roughly equivalent to the free-fall time of two skydives.
A real workout for everyone
You don’t need any prior experience to fly, as even children as young as eight are allowed in the tunnel. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll even learn how to perform quick turns and controlled changes in altitude. This makes the facility not only an entertaining pastime but also a challenging full -body workout.
If you’d rather just watch for now, you can do so completely free of charge through the fully glass-enclosed walls.
