This year, Vienna has some cool and promising events in store for us—some long-standing traditions, like the Opera Ball or the Danube Island Festival, while others are completely new. The Isle of Summer falls into the latter category and will take place in Vienna for the first time in 2026. At this one-day festival, you can expect electronic beats from national and international artists to create a summer vibe on the Danube. So get out of the dark nightclubs and head to the Danube Island for an open-air musical experience where you can soak up the sun.

Although Isle of Summer is new to Vienna, it is not an entirely new festival. Since 2010, it has been held as a festival series on three dates each year in Munich. More or less well-known DJs regularly perform here, such as Adam Beyer, Fritz Kalkbrenner, DJ Koze, Guy Gerber, Monika Kruse, and Ben Klock. Over 30,000 people party to their music in Munich every year, making Isle of Summer the largest festival series in and around the Bavarian capital. Now it’s coming to Vienna for the first time this year, expanding internationally right off the bat.

Just like the Donauinselfest, Isle of Summer will be held on the Danube Island. On August 1, 2026, up to 18,000 people will be able to party here on four stages from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. In the future, the festival is set to expand into a series, just as it has in Munich, allowing up to 50,000 people to attend.
So far , more than 30 artists have been announced who will be performing for you at Isle of Summer this year, including Charlie Sparks, I Hate Models, Kobosil, Schrothagen, Prada2000, Oswald, and many more. The absolute highlight is headliner Eric Prydz. The Swedish producer gained worldwide fame with hits like “Call on Me” and “Opus” and is sure to get the party started. In addition to the musicians, there will also be a food court where you can refuel during your dance breaks.
