“Magical Christmas” is an interactive adventure that involves solving exciting tasks, stopping Krampus and saving Christmas. From November 14, 2025 to January 6, 2026, this unique experience for the whole family took place at IMMERSIUM:WIEN. Thanks to the cooperation with “ORF Licht ins Dunkel”, one of the largest associations for the promotion of inclusion, €1 from every ticket was donated to the association.
“Magical Christmas” – an adventure for the whole family
This adventure opened the doors to a magical Christmas wonderland beyond the North Pole. A breathtaking VR expedition led through the Northern Lights and through an exciting mission with numerous tasks to help the Christmas elves with their preparations: Checking wish lists, wrapping presents, loading the sleigh – all in a magical world that came to life thanks to innovative technology, digital storytelling and AR/VR effects.
In your individual elf alter egos, you became part of the story in which the villain Krampus threatened the magic of Christmas. To save him, you had to solve tricky puzzles, master exciting challenges and actively support the elves. Numerous surprises awaited you – from thrilling dance challenges and an action-packed snowball fight to an adrenaline-filled VR sleigh ride.
Winter Wonderland Market
An absolute highlight – ideal after this action-packed mission – was a visit to the Winter Wonderland Market. Real Christmas magic unfolded here: a funky village trail, interactive stations with Christmas traditions from all over the world and a cozy indoor marketplace with snow globes, children’s books, games and lots of little treasures were waiting to be discovered. The wish list was also received here by Santa Claus himself . The market was free of charge and the perfect place to get into the festive spirit with the family.
Experience the magic of Christmas together – and do good
Together with “ORF Licht ins Dunkel”, this special Christmas adventure offered a unique mix of fantasy, games, knowledge and community. Christmas fans young and old immersed themselves in the magical world of Christmas and experienced it in an immersive, interactive way. The experience was designed to be barrier-free and the interactive stations on Christmas traditions from around the world were also accessible in sign language. All content could be discovered playfully and together. At the same time, guests learned about the charitable work of “ORF Licht ins Dunkel”: €1 per ticket went to the charity. Whether a family outing, school trip or festive company event – unforgettable moments were created here, in which children and adults marveled, laughed, learned and got in the mood for Christmas together.
