This weekend, you can party in front of a big stage completely free of charge. Right there at the old turnaround loop of tram line 60, a two-day spectacle is taking place. After all, there’s still real, handmade guitar music to enjoy here. The Rock Rodaun Festival brings a genuine festival atmosphere to the 23rd district—and does away with expensive tickets entirely. As soon as you step onto the grounds, you’ll feel the family-friendly atmosphere. That’s because behind the scenes, dedicated neighbors and volunteers are pulling the strings.
From indie pop to the open stage

Musically, there’s plenty on offer here, as the spectrum ranges from classic rock sounds to blues and reggae. On Friday, KaRoLieBe-Rockbrass will kick off the weekend at 4:45 p.m., before acts like Mykage take the stage. They’ll be followed in the evening by Cross Connection and Taste the Pure.
Plus, there’s a new feature this year for anyone who plays an instrument. An open-stage jam session kicks off on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. So if you’re feeling brave, just jump in. Afterward, bands like The Gang will rock the crowd until 9:45 p.m. Before that, Celly Greens Fire Five will really get the crowd going.

Käsekrainer and Rodauner Strizzi

Although admission is free, the equipment has to be paid for. That’s why the volunteer organizers are appealing to your appetite. By grabbing a bite at the buffet, you ’re directly helping to fund the festival.
The organizers rely on strong regional partners. A cold Rodauner Strizzi beer from the local brewery costs 5.50 euros, while the classic summer spritzer is also served for 5.50 euros. There’s also a juicy Käsekrainer sausage from Butcher Schöny. If you’d rather skip the meat, there’s also a vegan chili for 5.50 euros.
Celebrating together on the outskirts of Vienna

To ensure everything runs smoothly, there’s a strict deposit system. There’s a 2.50 euro deposit for cups and dishes. The best way to get there is by public transit. You can either take tram line 60 directly or one of the buses. After all, the festival grounds start right at the entrance at Ketzergasse 435.
