The popular water playground officially opened in June 2011 and has been one of the absolute best destinations in the capital ever since. The best news for families: Admission is completely free! From May through the end of September, kids can splash around, climb, and explore nature here to their heart’s content every day. Whether on the weekend or after school— the park is always a worthwhile destination. Thanks to its excellent connections to the public transit network, the area is also easy to reach.
The absolute highlight of the grounds is the exciting water adventure trail. It playfully traces the path of fresh spring water from the Alps directly to Vienna. The kids follow the cool water from a replica spring mountain, through gentle streams and aqueducts, all the way to a large lake.

Little adventurers can cross this swimming lake using two real rope ferries or an exciting suspension bridge. The six-meter-high miniature water tower, equipped with a slide, is also a huge hit. In a spacious mud-play area with plenty of sand, kids can splash around to their heart’s content.
Another special feature is the population of European field hamsters found around the water tower. Of course, it’s important to note: The hamsters should not be fed, touched, or disturbed in any way— if you observe them at all, do so only from a safe distance.
While the children let off steam in the water, shaded lawns, cozy quiet spots, and numerous benches offer parents the perfect space to relax. Accessible entry points, a water bar, and modern restroom facilities perfectly round out the overall experience.
