Vienna has recently gained a new culinary attraction that breaks down and redefines the boundaries of classic gastronomy. A spectacular new neighborhood hangout has opened on Heumühlgasse in the fourth district of Wieden: the “Weltraum Bar.” Anyone who steps through the door here leaves traditional Vienna behind and plunges into an intergalactic universe. The concept is designed as a transformative total work of art that blends a gallery, event venue, and nightlife. The owners renovated the venue themselves over the course of several months.
A new universe across six rooms
Instead of relying on a sterile, high-gloss design, the venue captivates with a vibrant mix of modern elements, charming retro chic, and creative upcycling ideas —such as sinks made from old oil drums. Spanning a generous 200 square meters, a total of six rooms extend across the space, functioning like different orbits. They offer a dynamic stage for young, local artists.
The program changes roughly every two months, so guests can regularly experience new art exhibitions, live concerts, readings, or performance art during their visits. As a result, the atmosphere is constantly evolving, and every visit promises a completely new journey of discovery for the senses.

The Weltraum Bar also offers exciting culinary highlights. The creative drink menu features extraordinary signature drinks. Particularly popular are creations like the “Spicy Carrot Margarita” or the “Soft Landing,” which make extensive use of freshly squeezed juices. Those who prefer something more classic can choose from a fine selection of natural wines or sparkling Crémant.
For those feeling peckish, there are snacks like sandwiches and olives. The overarching goal of the project is to bring people together in a relaxed way and foster interaction.
