Originally opened in 1973 as a wildlife park , this destination now spans the historic grounds of Salaberg Castle. Over 700 animals have now found a home here, and the shaded, barrier-free paths are ideal for strollers.

While you can primarily observe native wildlife here, endangered exotic species such as bears, monkeys, and the four Chinese leopards from the European conservation breeding program are also permanently housed here.

Climbing Fun in the New Apple Experience World
Since this spring of 2026, there’s been a brand-new attraction to discover on the grounds. The 450-square-meter Tree Experience World features a fully air-conditioned indoor treehouse that stretches over eight meters in height. It includes a hands-on interactive museum where the history of the region’s orchard meadows is conveyed in a playful way.
While the little ones romp around in secret play areas or enjoy the nature theater, the grown-ups can relax in the cozy café. There, 60 seats offer a direct view of the action. This makes the area the perfect refuge if the weather happens to take a turn for the worse.
