If you’re looking for clothing, jewelry, or art that stands apart from mass-produced goods, you should head to the 3rd district on October 3 and 4. There, Studio 1 at the MARX HALLE transforms into a design market for independent labels and young creatives. Because the demand for local craftsmanship is constantly growing, the 4,000-square-meter venue offers plenty of space to browse for regional design products.
Since 2012, founders Simone Aichholzer and Sabine Hofstätter have been organizing this event regularly, with exhibitors changing constantly. As a result, four times a year you’ll find a completely new selection of products from the worlds of fashion, cosmetics, culinary arts, and kids’ design. So if you’re specifically looking for high-quality handmade goods, you can talk directly with the creators on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Creative workshops for all age groups
Plus, you don’t have to just spend the whole day strolling through the aisles—you can get hands-on right away. There’s also a dedicated DIY area with a variety of workshops open to visitors of all ages.

Since the products are always tailored to the season at each of the four markets, there’s something new to discover every time you visit. So it definitely makes sense to visit the market more often, especially since the curation places a strong focus on creative ideas outside the mainstream. You can always find the latest updates on the workshops being offered on the organizers’ social media pages beforehand.
Street Food Area and Important Information for Visitors
While you’re checking out the various booths, you’re welcome to bring your dog— provided it’s kept strictly on a leash. It’s also a good idea to have enough cash on hand for your purchases. Even though many designers accept convenient debit card payments, not all exhibitors offer this option.
If you need a break after browsing, simply head over to the approximately 1,000-square-meter street food area. There, you’ll find a variety of delicacies as well as a cozy lounge to relax in. A regular ticket for the entire Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. costs exactly 7 euros, and children 14 and under get in for free.
