Just under 30 minutes south of the city limits lies a park that offers a special natural spectacle in June. Here, over 25,000 rose bushes are currently blooming at the same time, filling the air with an intense fragrance. Since the peak blooming season reaches its absolute height in early summer, you shouldn’t wait too long to take this trip.
This is the Rosarium Baden in Doblhoffpark, the largest rose garden in all of Austria. Spanning an area of about eight hectares, it is home to more than 900 different varieties of roses. Since admission is free, the grounds are perfect for a relaxing afternoon.
Historic Grounds and Botanical Diversity
The Baroque complex looks back on a long history, as Vienna’s high society already appreciated the spa town during the imperial era.
