Styrian Lifestyle

Styria is worth a visit in the spring just for the heather blossoms alone. But if that doesn’t convince you yet, you can start by visiting Styrian Spring in Vienna. The event kicks off this year with a soft opening on Wednesday, April 8, at Rathausplatz. The official opening, featuring a brass band and beer tapping, takes place on Thursday. From April 9 to 12, you can experience Styria for four days. There’s a varied program featuring live music, cooking shows, and hands-on activities. Sample the region’s cuisine and taste regional specialties like potato goulash or Wagner pretzels. On stage, you’ll see not only musicians but also craft demonstrations.
In keeping with the green heart of Austria, you can also carve your own wooden hearts and weave flower wreaths. In the world’s smallest cinema, films by Robert Schauer are shown daily. It has just three seats. If you want to stretch your legs afterward, you can do so at the mini-disco in a phone booth complete with a disco ball. Of course, you can also learn more about Styria and travel options at the various information booths. You can find the full program for Styrian Spring here.
