Downtown Vienna isn’t necessarily the first place that comes to mind when you think of hearty bean stew and chilled Uhudler. But for exactly four days in May, an entire state with all its culinary specialties moves into the city center. Next week marks the 22nd edition of Kultinarium Am Hof, where 30 Burgenland businesses will set up their stands. From Tuesday through Friday, you can literally smell and taste the Pannonian air here daily between 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m.
Red wine and traditional Sterz
The event focuses on the region’s characteristic red and white wines, as well as the famous South Burgenland Uhudler. Exhibitors include renowned winemakers such as the Leo Hillinger Winery, the Grosz Winery, and the Mirth Uhudler Estate. For those who need a hearty meal, fresh Sterz is served daily at 1:00 p.m. —on Wednesday with beans, on Thursday as Polentasterz, and on Friday in the classic potato version.

Why you should come in your bathrobe
This year, the organizers have come up with a rather unconventional promotion that rewards courage. Anyone who shows up at the festival in a bathrobe qualifies for the big raffle. Every day at 5:00 PM, a Vossen bathrobe will first be raffled off right on stage, before the grand prize is up for grabs at the end.
The four daily winners will compete against each other in the grand finale on Friday, May 22, at 5:15 p.m. The winner will receive an incredible four spa weekends for two in Burgenland—including stays at St. Martins Therme & Lodge and Avita Resort. Important: You must be present at the finale to claim the prize.
Live music galore
Exclusively Burgenland-based bands and brass bands provide the perfect musical backdrop. Look forward to groups like the Burgenland Blech Cuvée (Tuesday, 5:30 p.m.) or Überdosis Blech (Friday, 11:00 a.m.), who will really get the place rocking. Those who prefer a more traditional vibe can listen to the Weinberg Musikanten at the opening or the Drei Leid’n Trio, which performs daily at 3:00 p.m.
