Right in the heart of the 7th district, more precisely at Zieglergasse 2, there’s a fantastic new spot that just opened. The new café now combines traditional Chinese matcha with fine French pastries.
The café is currently still a real hidden gem and, as a result, isn’t immediately packed when you stop by for afternoon tea. The interior is very minimalist and modern, making the space the perfect place to unwind a bit after work.
French Pastry Art Meets Organic Matcha
In the display cases, plump croissants await you, combining French craftsmanship with Asian flavors. The menu changes regularly, but ingredients like strawberry, vanilla, black sesame, and creamy vanilla ice cream give you a good taste of what’s to come.

Great emphasis is placed on the origin of the products. According to the owners, the matcha used is certified organic and sustainably grown, which you can immediately taste in the quality of the drinks.
A tasting for true connoisseurs

If you’ve only ever thought of standard lattes from big chains when it comes to matcha, you’re in for a surprise here. The Honeymoon Salon de Thé offers a special matcha tasting where you can try three different types of the drink.
This tasting is ideal for discovering the subtle yet distinct differences between the individual varieties for yourself. From mild and sweet to intense and tart, this tasting truly has it all.
Special Events and Workshops

If you’d like to delve deeper into the preparation process, keep your eyes peeled. The owners occasionally host special matcha workshops or other great events, featuring live DJs and creative workshops.
If you’re in a hurry, that’s absolutely no problem. Almost all the delicacies are also available to go, so you can simply pack your croissant in a bag to take home or enjoy on your next walk.
