You don’t have to travel farfor a massive adrenaline rush. Just about 45 minutes south of Vienna, a challenge awaits that will literally pull the ground out from under your feet. Since you’ll be taking a tandem jump from an altitude of 4,000 meters at the Para Club Wiener Neustadt, you’ll see the landscape from a completely new perspective.
When you stand at the open door of the plane, your heart rate inevitably skyrockets. After all, you’ll then be hurtling toward the ground at speeds of up to 200 km/h. The aircraft used—a powerful Supervan—takes you up to the necessary jump altitude in about 15 minutes.
The jump from the clouds
The pure free fall lasts just under 60 seconds. As soon as the instructor pulls the ripcord, you’ll glide gently down on the parachute for about five to eight minutes. During this time, you’ll enjoy a sweeping view of southern Lower Austria.
Before taking to the air, however, you’ll receive a detailed briefing on the ground from certified tandem masters. Minors must have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian, who must also be present during the jump, and a minimum height of 1.45 meters is required to ensure the harness fits properly. The standard maximum weight is 90 kg, though jumps for participants weighing up to 115 kg are possible for an additional fee of 55 euros.

Prices and Schedule
A standard tandem jump costs 280 euros. You also have the option of having a camera skydiver capture your jump on video for 120 euros. Because the club operates as one of Austria’s largest nonprofit skydiving clubs, your contribution goes directly toward maintaining the fleet and the facility.
Youshould plan on spending about two to three hoursfor the entire excursion . Consequently, you must arrive exactly 30 minutes before your scheduled time; this allows enough time beforehand for ground training. Although the jumps naturally depend on wind conditions, the club will at least notify you in a timely manner via text message in case of bad weather. The air at this altitude is noticeably cooler, so you should wear comfortable and warm athletic clothing. The club also provides you with a full set of rental gear, including jump goggles.
