When the first warm days arrive, everyone wants to get out of the city and see some color. Right now, 500,000 tulips from Holland are popping up in Lower Austria, offering you a truly beautiful spring scene. But you only have a very short window of time to see them, because, as we all know, nature waits for no one.
Which tulip spot are we talking about?
Just 20 minutes from Vienna lies a place that’s currently absolutely bursting with colorful blooms. The Wunderlich Strawberry and Pumpkin Farm in Stockerau has come up with something truly awesome for this spring. You probably know the farm from the upcoming berry season or the autumn pumpkins. With the current temperatures, it’s also wonderful to relax among the flower beds. The farm provides you with delicious pastries and the first fresh strawberries straight from the field right on site. If you really want to treat yourself, grab a coffee or a glass of sparkling wine. Another nice touch is the Dutch stroopwafels, which complete the Holland vibe. You can easily bring your dogs and the rest of the family along. There’s something for everyone here.
What you absolutely need to know before your trip

The fields will only be in bloom until early May, so you’ll need to plan your trip soon. You’re not allowed to pick the flowers yourself so that all guests can enjoy the splendor for as long as possible. However, you can buy ready-made bouquets on-site and take them home with you right away.
The grounds in Stockerau are open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It’s best to book your tickets online in advance. Children can visit the farm starting at 3 euros, while adults pay 9 euros or more for access to the colorful field and the adventure farm.
