When it comes to cuisine, Vienna certainly has nothing to hide. After all, we can call one of the 50 best pizzerias in the world our own, and our national cuisine is also among the global leaders. The chefs in this city are not only masters of Italian and Austrian cuisine, but also impress with French dishes. One of the French restaurants in Vienna is so good that it recently attracted actor Pedro Pascal.
Dishes to share by TV chef Patrick Müller

Mon Cher on Opernring opened in fall 2024, bringing an innovative concept to Vienna. Owner Aras Güray Kaan’s restaurant promises fine dining in a sharing style in a family atmosphere. In the kitchen is none other than Patrick Müller, who kept viewers company through the night with his show “Silent Cooking” from 2006 to 2011. Together with Mario Dervi, he prepares French-Mediterranean dishes with a Japanese twist that guests can share.
The menu features classic French dishes such as oysters and steak tartare, as well as other dishes with an Italian or Japanese influence, such as Apulian burrata and teriyaki salmon salad. The food is placed in the middle of the table so that everyone can help themselves and try a variety of dishes. For dessert, there is crème brûlée, yuzu cheesecake, and tiramisu. The wine list is huge and takes you around the world, from local wines to German, Italian, French, Spanish, Hungarian, and American wines.
Prominent visitors at “Mon Cher”

It’s not just the creative head chef at Mon Cher who is famous, his visitors are too. On the weekend of January 24, movie star Pedro Pascal visited the restaurant with his family and two other guests. The Chilean-American actor is known for his roles in The Mandalorian, Game of Thrones, Narcos, and The Last of Us, among others .
At Mon Cher, he appeared casually dressed in jeans and a hoodie and had his picture taken with owner Kaan, as well as with chef de rang Sergeii Karliev. The pictures caused a stir on social media. Pedro Pascal was reportedly very friendly and personally thanked the restaurant staff for the evening. The meal apparently consisted of oysters accompanied by Austrian wine.
It is not known why the 50-year-old was in Vienna. On Saturday, the Vienna Ball of Scientists took place, at which a film in which Pedro Pascal had participated as a narrator debuted. However, he was not at the ball. Therefore, it remains unclear why the Hollywood star was in Vienna.
