Vienna has far more to offer than just gastronomy, art, and classical music. Our flea markets have long been among Europe’s absolute hotspots.
If you’re looking for the real, unvarnished Vienna, you have to head to the 10th district on a Sunday. The Wienerberg Giant Flea Market might not be for late sleepers, but it’s an absolute must-see for anyone who loves haggling over old treasures.
It starts right on time at 7 a.m. in the Billa Plus parking lot

Every Sunday, from January to December, the huge parking lot at Wienerbergstraße 27a turns into a treasure hunter’s paradise. It starts as early as 7:00 a.m., and the market is usually packed until 1:00 p.m.
From April to October, you can even stop by on holidays. Be sure to bring a large bag, because the vendors set up their folding tables here no matter the weather. The setting between the supermarkets has its own rugged charm, and the atmosphere is truly awesome.
Over 400 sellers and tens of thousands of items

On a busy Sunday, around 400 sellers crowd the area. The selection is enormous: every week, an estimated tens of thousands of items change hands here.
You’ll find absolutely everything at Wienerberg, from useful household appliances to rare collectibles. There’s plenty of vintage clothing — keep an eye out for old Levi’s jeans, rugged retro leather jackets, or original Adidas tracksuits from the ’90s.
There are also great finds for the home: antique Augarten porcelain, old Nintendo games, and boxes full of records are often just sitting on the ground. It’s a wild mix of private sellers who’ve cleared out their attics and true flea market pros.
When you need to show up for the best vintage finds

The early bird catches the best leather jacket. If you’re really looking for specific brand-name items or valuable antiques, you’ll need to be there by 6:30 a.m. at the latest.
The real pros scour the grounds with flashlights while the vendors are still unpacking. If you just want to browse a bit, 10:00 a.m. is plenty of time. Afterward, you can relax by the water in the nearby Wienerberg recreational area.
